The Prior Lake Laker girls and boys hockey teams will be skating against other high school teams during Hockey Day Minnesota 2025.
Considered the premier high school hockey event of the winter season, competition and other festivities will take place at Valleyfair in Shakopee. Games will be played each day, Jan. 22-25.
The Laker girls team (10-6-1) will face Eden Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Laker boys, 6-7-1 on the season, will play on Friday, Jan. 24, against Lakeville South at 7:30 p.m.
Several college and other high school teams are also scheduled to play during the event, which will include concerts, food and other concessions. General admission tickets start at $39, while a four-day pass costs $139.
Before the Lakers play in the special event, players will have to concentrate on other matches being played this week. The Laker girls team has a game tonight against Lakeville South on Jan. 9 at the Dakotah! Ice Center, and will follow that with road contests against Eagan, Lakeville North, Shakopee and Chaska/Chanhassen. Meanwhile, the boys will skate in three straight road games (at Shakopee, Eagan and Lakeville North) before hosting Eden Prairie on Jan. 16.
