The Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools board started the new year off by swearing in its recently elected directors and naming its officers.
Charles Johnson and Jessica Mason are the board’s newest directors, while voters in the district also reelected Mary Frantz this past November. They were administered their oaths of office at the first board meeting of 2025 on Monday, Jan. 13.
The board also organized its leadership. The board chair is Daniel White, with Amy Bullyan serving as vice chair and Lisa Atkinson as treasurer.
Community outreach events
The district is hosting a pair of outreach events later this month.
On Jan. 23 at 6 p.m., district leaders will be holding a “Community Coffee and Conversations” event in the All Purpose Room at WestWood Elementary, 5370 Westwood Dr. SE. The event will highlight the district’s efforts to meet the needs of all students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
A town hall-style meeting on the district’s financial situation is booked for Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. in room F211 at the high school. Presenters will discuss current enrollment trends, budget priorities and a five-year financial forecast after citizens rejected a levy referendum in November’s election.
