A two-vehicle crash on Presidents’ Day in Credit River has been confirmed to be fatal.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Tuesday, Feb. 18, that a crash the evening prior killed Kalai Terese Larson, 54, of Prior Lake.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.
According to the accident report, a white Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 64-year-old man from Prior Lake was traveling westbound on Eagle Creek Avenue near Deer Run Court in Credit River shortly after 8 p.m. Monday when it crossed the median and collided head-on with Larson’s red Kia.
Larson was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died. The driver of the Tahoe was also transported to HCMC for treatment of injuries characterized as serious.
There were no passengers in either vehicle. Investigators believe alcohol or drugs did not play a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Minnesota State Patrol, Prior Lake Police Department, Prior Lake Fire Department and Allina Health EMS.
