March 2, 1965
The Indianhead Council Order of the Arrow Indian Dancers performed on Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the High School auditorium. The event was sponsored by Prior Lake Boy Scout troop 331.
Members of the Minnesota Valley Voices, a choral group recently organized in the Prior Lake area, prepared for its first singing engagement. Members totaled 51 and the group invited anyone interested to join the group. Meetings were held on the second and fourth Mondays at 8 p.m. in the Prior Lake Village Community room.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department added a new member to its staff. “Baron,” a three-year-old German Shepherd, under the direction of Scott County deputy Ray Erlandson, began a three-month training program with the St. Paul Police Department Canine Unit.
Mona Muelken hit 16 of 19 free throws and finished a career-high 24 points in leading the Prior Lake Lakers to a 57-54 victory over the Eden Prairie Eagles in the opening round of sub-region basketball play.
Prior Lake VFW Post 6208 and its Auxiliary was seeking candidates for its Buddy Poppy and Loyalty Day Queen candidates. Any daughter, niece, sister or granddaughter of a VFW post or auxiliary member between the ages of 13 and 19 was eligible. Selection of the queen was based on knowledge about the Buddy Poppy program, appearance, and personality.

Deb Sunderman, a physical education teacher at Five Hawks Elementary School and coach of the Minnesota Rolling Timberwolves, a women’s wheelchair basketball team, was inducted into the Wheelchair Basketball Hall of Fame.
The Prior Lake VFW advertised its annual bullhead feed to be held on March 6 that would also feature the second annual Florian Blumberg Jam Fest.
Stephen Wiggen, a member of Prior Lake Boy Scout Troop 333, earned an Eagle Scout Award. His project involved leading a team of Scouts in repairing vandalized areas within the Outdoor Learning Center at Five Hawks Elementary School.
