The Muddy Buddy Run scheduled for Aug. 15 will be one event in which children ages 5 through 12 will be encouraged to get muddy and wet.
The City of Prior Lake’s Parks and Recreation Department will prepare an obstacle course on the Lakefront Park baseball field for the fun and memorable challenge. Spectators are welcome to observe but must stay out of the running path at all times.
Participants should wear shoes and clothing that can get wet and muddy, and should bring a towel and plastic bag for after the run. Those who sign up can select one of three time slots to the run the course as many times as they wish in 30 minutes. Time slots are:
- Session 1 – run time is from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
- Session 2 – run time is from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
- Session 3 – run time is from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Staff members from the city’s public works department will be on hand at the park from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and children will have the opportunity to get a close-up look at trucks and equipment. No extra registration is required for this part of the event.
