Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools Superintendent Michael Thomas announced on July 29 the hiring of Rob Cothern as the district’s next Executive Director of Administrative Services, pending school board approval.

Cothern will officially begin his new role on Aug. 15, succeeding Emily Herman. He brings valuable experience in human resources and organizational leadership, according to Thomas, most recently serving as Human Resources Manager at Rochester Public Schools, where he led a team of seven HR professionals in supporting a district of over 3,000 employees and 18,000 students.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and Marketing, along with studies in Computer Science and Economics from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

“I’m honored to join Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools as Executive Director of Administrative Services,” Cothern said. “I’m excited to support the systems that help students thrive and to contribute to the strong tradition of excellence in the Laker community. Go Lakers!”

Thomas concluded saying he was confident that his leadership and expertise will be a tremendous asset to PLSAS staff, students and families.
