This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between August 27 – September 2. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
August 27
Disturbance: Police received a call at 2:25 a.m. from a residence on Sioux Trail that involved a physical disturbance. One person was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, trespassing, fleeing on foot and obstruction.
Medical: Police responded to five medical calls on this day with time and location noted: Shady Beach Trail, 2:44 a.m.; Gateway Street, 6:40 a.m.; Gateway Street, 11:12 a.m.; Grainwood Trail, 4:52 p.m.; Gateway Street, 5:43 p.m.
Road hazard: Police were called to the intersection of Carriage Hills Parkway and Meadowlawn Trail to assist with clearing a road hazard.
August 28
Medical: Police responded to four medical calls on this day with time and location noted: Huron Street, 2:14 a.m.; Rutledge Street, 1:35 p.m.; Gateway Street, 2:16 p.m.; Parkwood Drive, 9:26 p.m.
Road hazard: Police received a report at 7:10 a.m. of a shovel and debris in the roadway near Eagle Creek Avenue and 140th Street.
Suspicious activity: A 911 hang-up call was received at 9:10 a.m. from a caller on Bennett Street. Police arrived at the address listed, but it was a new home under construction. They spoke with a person working on the home, who stated there was no emergency, nor did they know who had placed the call.
Road hazard: Police responded to a report of concrete left on the roadway near 160th Street and Franklin Trail. The public works department was notified, as was the concrete company.
Accident: A person backing from a parking spot at Mystic Lake Casino struck a vehicle which was not occupied at the time. No injuries were reported; damage sustained to each vehicle was minor and not disabling.
Assist: A male arrived at the police department at 11:06 a.m. and said he wanted to turn himself in for an unknown reason. He was recognized by officers from his TikTok posts when he frequently goes into a police department and “turns himself in” for minor crimes that may or may not have taken place. Interactions are filmed using Rayban video glasses and posted for content. The male reported that he wanted to turn himself in for jaywalking, according to the report. The officer advised him that he was aware of his “content” posts and he was not to waste the time of officers. The male left without further incident.
Suspicious activity: A woman living on McKenna Road reported at 1:47 p.m. that someone was at her door and attempted to open it. Officers searched the building and were unable to locate anyone matching the description given.
Traffic criminal: Police arrested a person on Duluth Avenue at 1:55 p.m. and charged the person with fourth degree DWI.
Road hazard: Police assisted with clearing a large tree branch that was blocking the intersection of Eagle Creek Avenue and 154th Street at 3:51 p.m.
Traffic: Police observed at 4:41 p.m. a juvenile riding a gas-powered dirt bike on the sidewalk and roadway near the intersection of Crest Avenue and Cedarwood. He had been advised of the rules previously, and police left a message for his mother.
Traffic: Police stopped a driver at 9:01 p.m. on Fish Point Road for expired registration. The person was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and later released with a citation.
August 29
Medical: Police responded to five medical calls on this day with time and location noted: Five Hawks Avenue, 7:29 a.m.; Trail of Dreams, 11:56 a.m.; Crest Avenue, 2:53 p.m.; Rutgers Street, 8:09 p.m.; Oak Ridge Circle, 11:10 p.m.
Theft: A woman reported at 12:13 p.m. that her vehicle had been broken into the night before when it was parked near Five Hawks Avenue and Priorwood Street.
Accident: Police were called at 12:23 p.m. to Duluth Avenue and Highway 13 when an accident with injury was reported. The driver was transported to the hospital and her vehicle was towed. Minnesota State Patrol handled the investigation.
Information: Police spoke with a woman at 4:12 p.m. who said she had bumped into a kid on an E-bike. The child was not injured, rode off and she did not know where the child went.
Suspicious activity: Police received a report of a 911 hang-up call at 5:32 p.m. which originated on Memorial Trail. The park was searched, but officers could find no one needing assistance.
August 30
Medical: Police responded to one medical call on this day with time and location noted: Gateway Street, 5:31 a.m.
Suspicious activity: Police received a call at 11:39 a.m. regarding a suspicious person who was hiding in bushes near the intersection of Turner Drive and Ida Circle. The subject was located and said they were taking a break in the shade under a group of trees.
Fraud: A male reported to police that he had been sent explicit photos online on a dating app and the other user was asking for money to not share his photos. Police advised him this was a common scam and he should not send money.
August 31
Property damage: A person living on Elm Avenue reported at 9:39 a.m. that someone hit her mailbox and the corner of her decorative fence in the previous 12 hours.
Theft: A person living on Fox Tail Trail called police at 11:04 a.m. to report that his license plates had been replaced with someone else’s.
Medical: Police responded to three medical calls on this day with time and location noted: Eagles Circle, 5:02 p.m.; Adelmann Street, 8:59 p.m.; Mystic Lake Boulevard, 10:58 p.m.
Traffic: Police cited a driver near the intersection of Wild Oak Terrace and Conroy Street after he did a wheelie on an electric motorcycle across four lanes of traffic on County Road 42. The driver stated the wheelie was an accident, despite wearing a “legalize wheelies” sticker on his helmet.
September 1
Medical: Police responded to one medical call on this day with time and location noted: Franklin Trail, 8:37 p.m.
September 2
Accident: No injuries were reported following an accident that occurred at 8:39 a.m. at 140th Street and Highway 13. One vehicle was traveling eastbound on 140th Street approaching a stop light and struck a car that was stopped at the light, which caused minor damage. Both cars were able to drive off from the scene.
Assist: Police were called to a home on Aspen Avenue at 2:24 p.m. where the resident reported he had been getting calls from a debt collector. The resident was advised to contact the company to determine whether or not money was owed; he was also made aware of possible scams.
Traffic criminal: Police responded to a call received at 6:08 p.m. involving a person who had passed out behind the wheel of his car parked at Fish Point Road and Eagle Creek Avenue. The person was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail where he was charged with second degree DWI.
