Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is building homes in Prior Lake and looking for volunteers to help finish indoor projects.
Construction has already begun at 4667 170th St SE, near the Ponds Athletic Complex in Prior Lake. Twelve townhouse units will be built in three buildings of four units each. One building has been completed. Another is under construction and is expected to be finished in May. The third building is scheduled to start construction shortly thereafter.
Each unit contains three or four bedrooms and 1.75 baths. Square footage for each is approximately 1,700.
Volunteers would work on interior projects such as interior painting, flooring installation, installing interior doors, cabinets, and trim. All homes will be EnergyStar certified.
Volunteers can sign up as an individual, or rally friends, neighbors or work colleagues to sign up as a group. No experience is necessary. Tools and instructions are provided to keep volunteers safe.
