The Prior Lake boys swim and dive team continued an impressive run, securing a decisive 101-75 victory over Apple Valley in its second consecutive South Suburban Conference meet. The dominant performance saw the Lakers sweep all individual events and claim victory in all three relay races.
Ethan Kosin highlighted the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 IM, clocking in at an impressive 1:59.56. Owen Beaudette showcased his speed, winning the 100 freestyle in a blazing 21.95 seconds. Maddox Mork proved his dominance in diving, securing the top spot on the podium. Braxton Helmers rounded out the individual victories with a strong performance in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:01.87.
With this victory, the Lakers improve to 2-0 in the conference. They will look to continue their winning streak as they host Eastview at home on Friday, Jan. 4 at 6 p.m.
This year, the team is guided by five senior captains—Ethan Kosin, Griffin Leining, Maddox Mork, Matthew Ondracek and Rowan Wilson—who bring leadership and experience to the roster. The Lakers are expected to excel across all three relay events and return several standout individual state qualifiers: Ethan Kosin (100 Back, 100 Free), Griffin Leining (100 Fly), Braxton Helmers (100 Back, 200 IM), Owen Beaudette (100 Breast, 200 IM), Jamey Solt (500 Free), Matthew Ondracek (100 Back) and Maddox Mork (Diving).
In addition to their core performers, the Lakers boast a deep roster of returning swimmers and promising newcomers who are ready to make an impact.
