The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association, is participating in the 2025 Law Enforcement Scholarship Program that will award up to 18 scholarships in December, each totaling $2,000.
The scholarships are made possible through the collective efforts of Minnesota’s 87 sheriffs who support pre-entry training for individuals pursuing careers in law enforcement and understand that students may need financial assistance to cover education costs.
“I encourage law enforcement students in Scott County to apply for a scholarship and take advantage of the opportunity to support their education,” Sheriff Luke Hennen said.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in one of the following:
- Mandated POST Skills Program
- Second year of a two-year law enforcement program
- Third or fourth year of a four-year college criminal justice program
Applications are due by Nov. 28, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be announced in December at the MSA Winter Conference.
Eligible students can apply by visiting the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, 301 Fuller St., Shakopee to request an application. Completed applications must be returned to the sheriff’s office for signature and submission to the MSA.
