The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for the Twin Cities area, including Prior Lake, starting Tuesday, March 4, and continuing into Wednesday.
Rain is expected to turn to snow across southern Minnesota and all of the metro area between 7 and 9 p.m. Winds will intensify to 45 to 50 miles per hour causing blizzard conditions. Snow accumulation of 4 to 7 inches is anticipated during the overnight hours. Blowing and drifting snow will cause limited visibility and hazardous driving conditions throughout the night and into the morning.
Weather should improve later Wednesday as snowfall and winds decrease.
