The Native American Student Coalition at Prior Lake High School will host a powwow on Saturday, March 22 from 1 to 6 p.m.
The Wayawa Wacipi is a first for the student-led group and will feature Native American drum presentations, dancing, singing and food. All festivities will be held at the school’s activity center.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
VFW music scholarship now available
Musicians with a veteran parent or grandparent may be eligible for Post 6208’s Blumberg VFW music scholarship.
The $1,000 prize is sponsored the Blumberg family in honor of Ed and Florian Blumberg and their band, “The Jolly Musicians.”

Scholarship opportunity for Scott County veterans and families
The Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River organization is inviting students in Scott County to apply for one of its four $2,000 scholarships.
The applicant must be a dependent or grandchild of a member of the military (active, reserve, retired), or an individual who is currently serving, or is a former service member, or has a delayed enlistment. Proof must be provided. The applicant must be attending or accepted for admission to an accredited college or university, community college or vocational/technical school.
