Join a historical interpreter for a hands-on maple sugaring experience on Sunday, March 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Cleary Lake Regional Park in Prior Lake.
Participants will hike to the sugarbush and discover the cultural significance of this winter-end activity. The demonstrations will include tapping a tree, gathering the sap and learning how to transform what is gathered into real maple syrup and sugar.
There is a cost to participate. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (763) 559-6700. The program is open to all, but children age 11 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Cleary Lake Park is located at 18106 Texas Ave, Prior Lake, and is operated by Three Rivers Park District.
