Prior Lake High School Girls Swim and Dive Coach Katie Haycraft was recently inducted into the Minnesota Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (MSHSCA) Hall of Fame.
The honor recognizes her contributions and dedication to the sport of swimming, both as an elite athlete and as a successful coach. Haycraft’s swimming legacy began during her own high school career, where she earned multiple state titles and set numerous state records in both individual and relay events. To this day, she remains among the top 20 all-time swimming performances in Minnesota history.
Over the past 17 seasons as head coach of the Prior Lake High School Girls Swim and Dive Team, Haycraft has built a powerhouse program. Under her leadership, the Lakers have captured 10 conference championships and earned 10 top-eight finishes at the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) State Meet. Her athletes recorded two individual state champions and eight have been named All-American swimmers. Throughout her tenure, the team has maintained a combined record of 130 wins and 16 losses.
In addition to her work with the girls team, Haycraft also served for eight seasons as assistant coach for the Prior Lake High School Boys Swim and Dive Team, further demonstrating her commitment to student-athletes and the sport, according to school district officials.
