Additional contributions to the Prior Lake Foreign Exchange program fund increased to a total of $800, $50 short of the goal, according to principal Edward Keckeisen. Anyone who wanted to participate in bringing the Foreign Exchange student to Prior Lake in the fall was asked to direct their contributions to Prior Lake High School.
Art McMullen of Prior Lake attended the Colorado School of Trades at Denver, and received the National Rifle Association’s Instructor’s Permit for Colorado.

Steve Haschig and Alan Loose were installed as co-pastors at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church. They became friends 10 years earlier while enrolled at the same seminary in St. Louis, Mo.
The faculty of Prior Lake High School selected Becky Shimek and Steven Bull to attend Girl’s and Boy’s State, an annual program created to teach students about government.
Plans for the Prior Lake’s second annual celebration of Lakefront Days included a new feature. A medallion hunt was added to the list of events happening in July. Key organizers for 1985 were Barb Prindle, Don Schussler and Gary Gibbish.

The Prior Lake City Council was scheduled to vote on final construction plans for a new city hall and police department. Total costs were estimated at $13 million, and both buildings were expected to open by the end of 2006.
Quintuplets born to Christina and Eric Peltz of Prior Lake celebrated their first birthday on April 24. The five boys — Austin, Blake, Clayton, Daniel and Ethan — were baptized at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church as part of the celebration.
