Prior Lake’s observance of Memorial Day will be held on Monday, May 26 with a parade and service held at Memorial Park.
Staging for the parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Twin Oaks Middle School. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., led by members of the Prior Lake VFW Honor Guard, and travel west down 160th Street. Bands from Prior Lake High School and the middle schools will play during the route to Memorial Park.
VFW Commander Jake Roach will present opening and closing remarks during the ceremony, with prayers offered by members Gary Golay and LouAnne Krueger.
Other speakers will include Prior Lake Mayor Kirt Briggs, City of Credit River Mayor Chris Kostik, State Representative Ben Bakeberg and State Senator Eric Pratt.
The service will conclude with a wreath presentation by VFW Auxiliary President Lynda Allen.
If there is rain, the event will be moved indoors and held in the gymnasium at Twin Oaks Middle School.
