
Portions of Highway 13 near Lakefront Park will be closed from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights to accommodate music fest foot traffic once the event concludes.
Prior Lake Rotary’s Lakefront Music Fest will be held in Lakefront Park this Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, which will bring additional traffic to the city. Travel delays in and around the city should be expected both nights.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. The opening ceremony each night is scheduled for 6 p.m. Musical groups performing Friday night are Loverboy, 38 Special and Foreigner. Saturday’s performers are Dillon Carmichael, Randy Houser and Miranda Lambert.
Parking will not be available in the park. Free shuttle buses for visitors will run every 20 to 40 minutes beginning at 4 p.m. and until midnight each night.
The Twin Oaks Middle School (15860 Fish Point Road) and Hidden Oaks Middle School (15855 Fish Point Road) Parking lots will be available for parking and shuttle service. Attendees are also encouraged to utilize the parking lots at MVTA Park and Ride Lot located at southwest corner of Eagle Creek Boulevard and County Road 21, and Prior Lake High School Lots B and C located at 7575 150th St. W. in Savage to take advantage of the shuttles to and from the festival grounds.
Redtail Ridge and Hamilton school parking lots will not be used for parking and shuttle service.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel located at 2400 Mystic Lake Boulevard in Prior Lake is also providing shuttle service during the hours of the event. Shuttles from Mystic Lake will be running from hotel’s lower lot. The shuttles will run every 30 minutes beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at midnight both nights.
Walkers are also welcome to park at WestWood Elementary, La ola del lago Grainwood Elementary and Edgewood Elementary, all of which are located a short distance from Lakefront Park.
Highway 13 and County Road 44 will be closed from approximately 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. both Friday and Saturday to accommodate safe crossing of highways by those who walked to the park. Traffic will be redirected by public safety personnel.
Ridgemont Avenue and Hope Street will be closed for approximately 45 minutes both nights beginning at 10:15 p.m. to accommodate concert-goers leaving Lakefront Park. During this time, vehicles will not be able to enter or exit those neighborhoods. Public safety vehicles, however, will be able to access all homes in those areas in the event of an emergency.
