The Prior Lake Windjammers, a local crowd favorite for decades, will play at Lakefront Park between 6 and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25, as part of the City of Prior Lake’s “Music in the Park” series.

Led by Windjammers Director Keith Koehlmoos, musical selections during the performance will vary. The first half of the program will include excerpts from Verdi’s Requiem, Renaissance Reimagined by Brian Balmages, and a selection titled “Windjammer: Voyage Aboard a Tall Ship,” by Robert Buckley.
Koehlmoos said the second half of the program will feature music from popular movies such as “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and the Broadway production of “Hamilton.”
Lynnda Nelson will serve as the program’s announcer for the evening and featured in several selections. The musical line-up will include a few Sousa marches, a polka and depending upon time, a setting of a popular hymn tune and some video game music.
Koehlmoos has been the Windjammers’ director for several years. He notes that the band now includes a few 2025 Prior Lake High school graduates along with other Lakers, many of whom have played in college bands and have come back to Prior Lake to make it once again their home. While many members have non-music career fields, a number of current musicians are music teachers working in the area, retired music teachers and members from the metro area who play in other bands.
There is no charge to attend the concert. Lakefront Park is located at 5000 Kop Parkway, Prior Lake.
