Prior Lake Days, the annual event celebrating summer in the city, is scheduled for Aug. 8-9.
Friday will feature a “Sip and Stroll” for adults, while Saturday will be focused on family friendly events and activities.
The event is put on by the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce, with support from local sponsors and business members.
“Prior Lake Days is a weekend of fun with something for everyone,” Chamber President Rebecca Scholz said. “It’s affordable, inclusive fun that supports local businesses, and is the perfect way to celebrate summer.”

New this year
Scholz said there are quite a few new attractions during the event this year, including:
Classic car show (presented by Profinishers Auto Body): The Kool Kats Car Club ill bring 25 classic cars to Prior Lake for attendees to enjoy. People will also get to vote for their favorites.
Cookie eating contest: 10 teams of four will compete to see who can finish an Eileen’s Cookies giant cookie first. The team that finishes first and under one minute will win a dozen cookies per month for a year. Registration will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, in the information tent. The contest is hosted by Speiker & Company.
Dog adoptions: Spot’s Last Stop will have dogs and maybe puppies who are seeking a new home. There will be no on-site adoptions, but attendees can meet available dogs and begin the adoption process.
Children’s entrepreneurship market: The market is an award-winning program that teaches young people about the power of entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership through experiential learning. There will be more than 20 market booths run by kids.
Main Stage (presented by Morgan Family Dental): The main stage will have performances all day on Saturday.
Friday, Aug. 8
Sip and Stroll: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:15 p.m.)
Sip and Stroll, presented by Viking Liquor, features more than 50 beer, wine and liquor tasting vendors, in addition to food trucks and shopping. Tickets are required for the event and can be purchased in advance for $25 online at the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce website, or in person at the chamber office or Viking Liquor. Tickets can also be purchased at the event for $30. The event is limited to those 21 years old or older.
