This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between July 1-8. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
July 15
Accident: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:53 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 13 and Fish Point Road. No injuries were reported.
Harassment: A resident living on McKenna Road who reported receiving inappropriate messages from someone to whom she had sold an item on social media. Police investigated the person who reportedly had a history of similar actions with other women. The resident was advised to block calls received from that party.
Harassment: A Pondview Trail resident came to the police department and reported receiving calls from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office informing him he had missed a court date. Police advised the party it was a scam.
Accident: Police responded at 8:18 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident at the roundabout located on Eagle Creek Avenue and Highway 13. Both parties claimed the other failed to yield. Photos were taken and crash information was given to both drivers.
Assault: A 33-year-old St. Paul main was arrested on Mystic Lake Boulevard at 10:27 p.m. for felony domestic assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic assault with intention to cause harm or fear, and misdemeanor domestic assault with intention to inflict or attempt to inflict bodily harm.
July 17
Traffic Criminal: A 21-year-old woman from St. Paul was arrested at 12:39 a.m. near the intersection of 140th Street and Mystic Lake Drive for third degree DWI with a blood alcohol level of .165, obstructing legal process, expired registration, expired driver’s license and open bottle.
Threats: A man reported to police that another male approached him and threatened to punch his teeth out due to him flying a drone nearby. Police spoke to both parties and was able to resolve the issue. The man flying the drone near Wilds Path and Cougar Path was a licensed operator and used the device in his business that located dogs.
Accident: Police were called 10:22 p.m. to the intersection of 140th Street and Crest Avenue following an accident with unknown injuries.
July 18
Traffic Criminal: A 43-year-old Prior Lake man was cited at 7 a.m. for driving after his license had been cancelled.
Traffic Criminal: A 42-year-old Brooklyn Center man was cited for driving after his license had been cancelled, violation of driver license restrictions, and exceeding the speed limit.
Assault: A 24-year-old Burnsville man was arrested at 2:52 p.m. on Center Road for felony domestic assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic assault, felony fifth degree drug possession and gross misdemeanor to introduce contraband into jail.
Accident: Police responded at 7:17 p.m. to a reported hit and run that occurred on Main Avenue. The suspect vehicle had left the scene prior to officers arriving, but they were able to contact the driver who said he did not realize he had struck the parked car. Insurance information was provided.
Accident: Police were called at 9:51 p.m. to the intersection of 140th Street and Eagle Creek Avenue following the report of a two-vehicle accident. Both vehicles were traveling westbound and were in the righthand turn lane. Vehicle 1 was yielding to traffic when Vehicle 2 collided with it. Both vehicles had moderate damage but were able to drive away.
Traffic Criminal: A 23-year-old Jordan man was arrested at 10:19 p.m. near the intersection of Eagle Creek Avenue and Highway 13. He was arrested by police for misdemeanor fourth degree DWI with a blood alcohol level of .09, misdemeanor open bottle, misdemeanor failure to drive with due care and misdemeanor driving after revocation.
July 19
Theft: Police arrested a 37-year-old Eagan woman on two active felony warrants for probation violation, misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles), and fifth degree drugs. The arrest was made at 2:26 a.m. on Mystic Lake Boulevard.
Accident: Police responded at 6:42 p.m. to a report of a hit and run accident that occurred at 140th Street and Highway 13. The person identified as one of the drivers was cited for hit and run and having no license.
July 20
Accident: Police investigated an accident that was reported at 5:03 p.m. at the Sand Point Beach access. A driver towing a boat trailer stopped at the access in front of another vehicle which then drove on top of the empty boat trailer. The driver said his foot had slipped off of the brakes which resulted in minor damage to the front bumper. The trailer sustained moderate damage. No injuries resulted from the accident.
July 22
Accident: Police responded to an accident with injuries at 2:04 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 13 and Franklin Trail. The investigation was turned over to the Minnesota State Patrol.
