This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between August 6 – 12. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
August 6
Medical: Police responded to six requests for medical help on this day. Call times and locations included: Tower Street at 3 a.m.; Rutledge Street at 1:44 p.m.; Green Heights Trail, 3:52 p.m.; Roanoke Street, 7:07 p.m.; Bluebird Trail, 8:52 p.m.; and McKenna Road, 10:44 p.m.
Hazard: A report was made at 6:11 a.m. to the police department regarding a tree that had fallen on Spring Lake Road near Shoreline Boulevard. The tree was hanging over the road on a power line. Scott County Public Works and Excel Energy were contacted. Similar reports of downed trees and large branches blocking roadways were received later in the morning near Eagle Creek and Texas avenues, and off Oakland Beach Avenue.
Hazard: A resident living near Shady Beach Trail and Birchwood Avenue reported that a manhole cover had been removed and was placed on top of a concrete structure. Police put the cover back in its place. The reporting party said she saw juveniles around the structure the previous night.
Accident: An accident involving two vehicles occurred at 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 13 and 160th Street. The police report stated a driver was stopped at a red light when she was rear ended by another driver. No injuries were reported. Information related to the collision was provided to both drivers.
Traffic: Police stopped a youngster at 3:14 p.m. on Bluebird Trail for riding his gas-powered dirt bike on the road and sidewalk. His father was contacted and came to pick up his son and the bike.
Traffic Criminal: A 42-year-old Coon Rapids woman was arrested by police at 7:39 p.m. on Mystic Lake Drive and charged with fifth degree drug possession and fourth degree driving while impaired.
August 7
Accident: An accident involving two vehicles was reported at Eagle Creek Avenue and 154th Street at 8:23 a.m. Neither driver sustained injuries.
Medical: Police were called to assist with three medical calls on this day with call times noted: McKenna Crossing at 9:49 a.m.; Edinborough Avenue, 12:57 p.m.; and Fountain Hills Drive, 1 p.m.
Accident: No injuries were reported following an accident that occurred near Mystic Lake Drive and 140th Street at 4:49 p.m.
August 8
Medical: Police were called to assist with medical emergency calls received on this day with times and locations noted: Gateway Street, 12:16 a.m.; Woodland Trail, 2:40 p.m.; and Dakota Street, 5:04 p.m.
Assault: An 18-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested for domestic assault, causing fear of harm and inflicting harm, along with intentionally interrupting an emergency telephone call. The incident was reported at 1:18 a.m. on Sioux Trail.
Fraud: Police received a report from a Rolling Oaks Circle resident regarding a credit card that had been opened in her name through PayPal. Transactions were stopped by the company and the resident was being reimbursed once the police report was filed.
Assist: Police were called to assist the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 5:46 p.m. with a vehicle that landed in a ditch near Texas Avenue and 190th Street. No injuries were reported.
Welfare Check: Police responded to a request to check on an individual sleeping near a dumpster at a business located on Highway 13. Upon arriving at 11:22 p.m., police found a homeless man who did not need medical assistance and said he could care for himself. He was transported to the Burnsville Transit Station at his request.
August 9
Medical: Police assisted with three medical calls on this day with times and locations noted: Park Nicollet Avenue, 6:28 a.m.; Credit River Road, 12:56 p.m.; and Vergus Avenue, 9:21 p.m.
Suspicious Activity: A resident living on Jeffers Parkway called police at 1:21 p.m. to report that items on his deck had been moved the previous night and someone had attempted to open his deck door. The incidents were relayed to the management company but the party wanted the information documented by police.
Accident: A woman reported she struck a deer on County Road 83 at approximately 10:45 p.m. the previous night. The deer ran off and she was able to continue driving her car despite damage to her front grill and right side. A police report was required for her to file paperwork with her insurance company.
Harassment: A resident living on Jordan Avenue called police at 5:14 p.m. to report his ex-girlfriend was ordering delivery of pizzas to his residence to harass him.
August 10
Medical: Police assisted with four medical calls on this day with times and locations noted: Lyons Avenue, 12:14 a.m.; Grainwood Senior Living, 3:28 a.m.; Dakota Street, 10:34 a.m.; and Gateway Street, 1:27 p.m.
Suspicious Activity: A resident living on Hampton Street reported to police at 6:38 a.m. that a male tried to open his back door, but ran off once he realized it was locked. Police were unable to locate the person.
Accident: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:49 p.m. near the roundabout on Highway 13 and Eagle Creek Avenue. Both vehicles could be driven from the scene and no injuries were reported.
Traffic: Police observed a driver of a dirt bike traveling at 50 miles per hour on Highway 13 at 7:33 p.m. The driver was stopped, told about laws related to driving dirt bikes and his father was called who was asked to pick up his son.
August 11
Medical: Police assisted with three medical calls on this day with times and locations noted: Shepherd’s Path, 8:32 a.m.; Franklin Circle, 11:06 a.m.; and Grainwood Trail, 2:37 p.m.
August 12
Accident: A rollover crash occurred at 10:07 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 13 and Duluth Avenue. Two cars were involved and officers assisted in breaking a window to assist passengers in getting out of a vehicle. State Patrol arrived and took over the investigation.
Medical: Police assisted with two medical calls on this day with times and locations noted: Jeffers Parkway, 10:48 a.m.; and Trillium Cove, 9:19 p.m.
Fraud: A resident living on Franklin Trail reported to police at 6:28 p.m. that an unknown person applied for a PayPal credit card using his name and information. He was advised to report the incident to the three major credit bureaus and PayPal.
Suspicious Activity: A Wilds Ridge resident called police at 10:33 p.m. to report masked kids ringing doorbells in the neighborhood, but were gone when police arrived.
