This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between August 12 – 19. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
August 12
Accident: A woman reported at 12:45 p.m. that her car had been hit while parked at Mystic Lake Casino. Damage was done to the passenger rear wheel. The case is pending additional information; insurance information was provided.
Fraud: Police were called at 2:24 p.m. when a UPS store employee flagged a package being mailed by a party that had approximately $8,000 taped to a magazine and had indicated it was being sent to a party in Maine because it was a down payment for money on a vehicle she had won. The money was given back to the person who did not suffer any financial loss but was advised to be aware of scam calls.
Harassment: Police were dispatched to Lords Street and Martinson Island Road at 7:18 p.m. and talked to a person who said two people riding E-bikes had offered him drugs and called him inappropriate names. The juveniles had left the area by the time police arrived.
August 13
Civil: Police mediated a civil dispute at 2:17 a.m. between two parties, one of whom was a driver for Lyft who said the rear license plate mount and bumper of his vehicle had been damaged when he declined service to three riders. The matter was settled when the driver was compensated with $150 for the damage.
Accident: No injuries were reported in an accident that occurred at 7:04 a.m. near the Kwik Trip Gas Station parking lot. One driver was exiting the parking lot, stopped for an approaching vehicle and was rear-ended by the car behind him. There was minor damage to both vehicles and information was exchanged between the parties.
Medical: Police assisted with five medicals on this day with these call times and locations: Gateway Street, 8:31 a.m.; Village Lake Drive, 12:37 p.m.; Franklin Trail, 3:33 p.m.; Credit River Road, 3:37 p.m.; Fountain Hills Drive, 6:21 p.m.
Theft from Motor Vehicle: Police were called to Boudin Street at 8:42 p.m. following a report of car keys being stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The woman said she had temporarily walked away from her vehicle, and when she returned, the keys were gone. She was able to get another set of keys from her home. Police were connecting with a neighboring business to review camera footage related to the incident.
August 14
Medical: Police assisted with three medicals on this day with these call times and locations: Brunswick Avenue, 12 a.m.; Majestic Lane, 10:14 a.m.; Gateway Street, 10:22 p.m.
Accident: A two-vehicle accident was investigated by police at 5:51 a.m. near the intersection of 140th Street and Mystic Lake Drive. One driver was transported to the hospital after reporting chest pains. The other driver had glass in her hair but said she was not injured. A state crash report was completed and information exchanged between drivers.
Hazard: Police were called at 2:06 p.m. to 150th Street after a gas line had been cut by a concrete crew. They were relieved from the scene when the Prior Lake Fire Department arrived.
August 15
Medical: Police assisted with five medicals on this day with these call times and locations: Pixie Point Circle, 9:41 a.m.; Majestic Lane, 10:06 a.m.; Fountain Hills Drive, 10:29 a.m.; Wilds Lane, 3:49 p.m.; Toronto Avenue, 7:36 p.m.
Burglary: The theft of an air compressor, batteries and a charger from Prior Lake Fire Station #2 were reported to police at 10:49 a.m.
Warrant: Police were called to a facility on McKenna Road and arrested a woman for a felony domestic assault warrant that had been issued by Hennepin County. She was transported to the Scott County Jail without incident.
August 16
Disturbance: A person living on Spring Lake Road called police at 6:45 a.m. and indicated she was upset because her roommate kept touching her food. Police advised the party to secure her belongings and stay separated if possible.
Drug Possession: Police responded to a call at 9:45 a.m. regarding a person sleeping in the park located near Panama Avenue and Village Lake Drive. Upon arrival, police observed the man holding a glass bulb pipe and found him to be in possession of a residue amount of suspected meth. The items were taken and entered into evidence to be destroyed.
August 17
Medical: Police assisted with six medicals on this day with these call times and locations: Maple Trail, 1:06 a.m.; Spring Lake Road, 3:45 a.m.; McKenna Road, 12:37 p.m.; Tower Street, 7:19 p.m.; Credit River Road, 7:57 p.m.; Fountain Hills Drive, 8:44 p.m.
Accident: Police were called at 1:16 p.m. to the scene of an accident that occurred on Credit River Road. The driver had reportedly sustained a previous back injury, had reached to rub his lower back that was in pain and veered off of the road. He hit a stop sign that caused moderate damage to his vehicle which he was still able to drive. The driver showed no signs of intoxication, provided insurance information to police, and understood he would likely be charged for the damage to the sign. He declined offers for medical attention.
August 18
Medical: Police assisted with one medical call on this day with this call time and location: 170th Street, 10:46 a.m.
Hazard: Police responded at 1:40 p.m. to a report of a downed tree and power line on Red Oaks Road. City maintenance employees were already on scene after calls were received from residents.
Theft from Motor Vehicle: Police received a report at 6:13 p.m. from a person who reported his Apple iPhone was taken out of his unlocked vehicle while parked at a business on Highway 13.
Hazard: A group of high school-aged kids were reportedly using objects to block the intersection of Carriage Hills Parkway and Bluebird Trail. Officers located the objects and removed them. Police found one person who was hiding between houses and was told to cease activity and return home. Attempts were made to locate the other juveniles.
August 19
Medical: Police assisted with five medical calls on this day with these call times and locations: Shepherd’s Path, 1:05 a.m.; Brunswick Avenue, 5:53 a.m.; Gateway Street, 2:20 p.m.; Credit River Road, 7:18 p.m.; Shore Trail, 8:16 p.m.
Suspicious Person: Police received a report at 7:41 a.m. regarding a man walking near Highway 13 and Eagle Creek Avenue who was carrying a long gun in a case with a scope. The male was located, but was wearing a backpack and an umbrella. No contact was made.
Fire: The Prior Lake Fire Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Department and Prior Lake Police responded to a call at 5:08 p.m. after a report of a fire on Credit River Road was received. When police arrived, the oven fire had been extinguished and the fire department was ventilating the home.
