Three Rivers Park District is looking for volunteers to help collect native wildflower seed at Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve in Savage from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.
All seed collected will support the continued restoration of the nearly 2,000 acres of prairie in Three Rivers parks located throughout the Twin Cities area. No experience is necessary; training will be provided at the start of the volunteer session.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; younger volunteers who are at least 12 years of age may participate if accompanied by an adult. The program is free and registration is required. To register, call (763) 559-6700.
Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve is located at 15501 Murphy Lake Blvd, Savage and operated by the Three Rivers Park District that oversees 27,000 acres of park land and serves more than 16.5 million visits each year.
