This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between August 20 – 25. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
August 20
Traffic Criminal: Police were dispatched to 150th Street at 12:46 a.m. following a report of a person sitting in a running vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the person asleep while in the driver’s seat. The driver was placed under arrest for fourth degree DWI and felony fifth degree drug possession.
Medical: Police assisted with six medical calls on this day at the locations noted: Memorial Trail, 2:06 a.m.; Wilds View, 12:03 p.m.; Commerce Avenue, 1:06 p.m.; Candy Cove Trail, 6:25 p.m.; Green Heights Trail, 7:44 p.m.; Spruce Trail, 11:20 p.m.
Public Assist: A local resident came to the Prior Lake Police Department at 9:09 a.m. to complain about the number of kids riding E-bikes in a reckless manner. The party was advised about state statute and which vehicles were allowed to be driven in the city.
Property Damage: A resident living on Bounty Street reported at 9:55 a.m. that the driver of a four-wheeler had been driving around a tree in the back yard of their property and the person was concerned that the tracks may kill the tree if the behavior continued. The homeowner said they wanted the incident documented and would call police if the incident occurred again.
Rescue: Police received a report 11:27 a.m. of multiple people stuck on an elevator in a building located on Main Avenue. The Prior Lake Fire Department was handling the incident when police arrived.
Accident: Two vehicles were involved in a near accident that happened at 2:09 p.m. near the intersection of Duluth Avenue and Highway 13. A vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 13 when another southbound vehicle started to make a lefthand turn on Duluth but partially stopped in the northbound lane. The northbound vehicle swerved, struck a pedestrian crosswalk pole, continued through the grass and struck a light pole before coming to a stop, causing heavy front end damage. The other vehicle continued on Duluth but the license plate was not recorded.
Traffic Criminal: Police were called to a business on Franklin Trail at 2:24 p.m. The party said a vehicle had struck the building and then tried to leave the scene. The driver was located leaving the parking lot and later arrested for DWI.
Traffic Criminal: Police stopped a vehicle that had no front license plate on Highway 13 at 11:20 p.m. The driver was arrested for third degree DWI and booked in the Scott County Jail.
August 21
Medical: Police assisted with five medical calls on this day at the locations noted: 170th Street, 3:48 a.m.; Wilds Lane, 2:55 p.m.; Shepherd’s Path, 4:03 p.m.; Deerfield Drive, 8:27 p.m.; Franklin Trail, 9:21 p.m.
Tampering, Motor Vehicle: A resident of Sheffield Terrace called police at 9:21 a.m. to report that her daughter’s car was rummaged through during the previous night, but the only thing missing was change. A similar report was received by police at 12:35 p.m. from a resident living on Coachman Court.
Accident: No injuries were reported following an accident that occurred at 12:10 p.m. the near the intersection of Minnesota Street and Jordan Avenue. A vehicle pulling a trailer caught the back of a parked car causing damage to the rear bumper, tail light and on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Information was exchanged between the two parties.
Accident: No injuries were reported following an accident that occurred at 9:27 p.m. near the intersection of Shoreline Boulevard and Stemmer Ridge Road. The driver told police he lost control of his vehicle and hit a curb. No other vehicles were involved.
Traffic Criminal: Police were dispatched to a hit and run that occurred at 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 13 and Pleasant Street. The driver was located, arrested for DWI and booked into custody at the Scott County Jail.
August 22
Medical: Police assisted with four medical calls on this day at the locations noted: White Drive, 5:24 a.m.; Highway 13, 6:20 a.m.; Bluff Heights Trail, 1:12 p.m.; East Oak Point Road, 8:54 p.m.
Traffic Criminal: Police stopped a driver at 10:35 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 21 and Eau Claire Trail after several driving violations were witnessed. The driver was arrested and cited for fourth degree DWI.
August 23
Medical: Police assisted with four medical calls on this day at the locations noted: Cedar Circle, 3:49 a.m.; Gateway Street, 6:31 a.m.; Gateway Street, 8:10 a.m.; Bounty Street, 12:11 p.m.
Suspicious Person: Police received a report at 5:56 a.m. regarding a person sleeping in the restroom at Priordale Mall. The person was located and subsequently left the building.
Accident: Police received a report at 8:40 p.m. of an accident with injuries that occurred near the intersection of 140th Street and Mystic Lake Drive.
August 24
Medical: Police assisted with four medical calls on this day at the locations noted: Fremont Avenue, 1 p.m.; Franklin Trail, 1:35 p.m.; Crimson Court, 11:35 p.m.; Little Crow Drive, 11:40 p.m.
August 25
Accident: A two-vehicle accident occurred on Commerce Avenue at 9:52 a.m. One driver said he was attempting to put his coffee cup in the holder, got distracted and pulled into traffic, causing a collision with another vehicle. There was moderate damage to both cars but no injuries were reported.
Medical: Police assisted with three medical calls on this day at the locations noted: Fish Point Road, 12:56 p.m.; Credit River Road, 2:41 p.m.; Mystic Lake Boulevard, 9:20 p.m.
Accident: Police responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at 8:58 p.m. at the intersection of Mystic Lake Boulevard and Mystic Lake Drive. Three occupants from one vehicle were transported to the hospital due to suspected injuries.
August 26
Medical: Police assisted with six medical calls on this day at the locations noted: 170th Street, 3:44 a.m.; Franklin Trail, 10:12 a.m.; Maplewood Street, 1:24 p.m.; Jeffers Pass, 3:50 p.m.; Adelmann Street, 7:25 p.m.; Fountain Hills Drive, 7:45 p.m.
Accident: A minor accident that resulted in no injuries occurred at 4:26 p.m. near the intersection of Wilds Path and Mystic Lake Drive.
Suspicious Activity: Police were called to the intersection of Carriage Hills Parkway and Coachman Lane at 9:23 p.m. The reporting party said they heard what sounded like a crash in the area. Police checked out the scene but only found an office chair that appeared to be run over. The report listed that juveniles had been placing items in the roadway at that location throughout the summer which caused problems for drivers.
