Prior Lake Rotary presented checks totaling nearly $142,000 to representatives from non-profit organizations that assisted with making Lakefront Music Fest held in mid-July a success.
In its 15 years of hosting, the local Rotary club has enlisted members of other service organizations to help during the weekend-long festivities. In turn, volunteers are able to earn money for their respective organization. Hundreds of volunteers from nearly 40 area non-profits signed up to help this year. In addition to the many hours Rotarians devote to planning and hosting Lakefront Music Fest, representatives of the non-profit groups worked more than 3,500 hours during the weekend of the event.
Volunteer organizations included: Prior Lake Hooksetters, Laker Education Foundation, Edina Rotaract, Edina Realty Foundation, A Night to Shine, Prior Lake Players, Shakopee Rotary, Prior Lake News Compass, Scott-Carver Humane Society, Laker Athletic Booster Club, Lakeville Rotary Foundation, Southwest Metro Rotaract, Smoke Signals, Chaska Rotary Club, Burnsville Breakfast Rotary, Belle Plaine Rotary, Patrons of the Arts and Activities, Prior Lake Lions Club, Prior Lake Association, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Prior Lake Pickleball Club, Orono Rotary Club, Edina Morningside Rotary Foundation, La Ola Del Lago PTC, Toy Corner, Spot’s Last Stop Canine Rescue, Secondary Immersion Education Fund, Scott County Young Life, Prior Lake Snowmobile Association, Dads of Great Students (DOGS), Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, Reaching Our Community’s Kids (ROCK), Prior Lake-Savage Hockey Association, West St. Paul/Mendota Heights Rotary and Jordan Lions Club Foundation.
“We are able to produce a great event each year, thanks to our many volunteers, long-time sponsors and public safety personnel who have supported us for 15 years,” said Michelle Jirik, Lakefront Music Fest Executive Director. “We also appreciate the thousands of hours Prior Lake Rotarians collectively commit throughout the year in planning and making our event a huge success.”
