The Prior Lake Police Department is located on Dakota Street.
Prior Lake Police responded to a call during the evening hours of Friday, Oct. 24 at the Water Tower Place Condos located on the 4600 block of Tower Street S.E. regarding a man reported to be pointing a long gun at people in the parking lot.
According to a press release issued by the city, witnesses say a man on the deck of an apartment appeared to be loading a weapon, pointing it, and was angry because a nearby group was being loud. The man went back into his apartment and when officers tried to contact him, there was no response.
Members of the Tri-County Tactical Team eventually made contact with the suspect and he surrendered willingly approximately four hours after the incident was first reported.
A search warrant of the apartment led to the discovery of the alleged weapon.
The suspect was arrested and charges are pending at this time.
