Bob loved cars, working and customizing them in his youth. In his later years he loved going to any car show he could find. He was involved with the local Wissota Stock Racing starting in the early 1960s and continuing until 1977. After that he started attending Nascar races at Daytona and Charlotte.
Bob loved his family and our dogs and loved to go camping (although most trips still involved racing). He loved his motor homes which he called his “Polish Pup Tent.”He was a social butterfly — no matter where we traveled in the country, he would find someone he knew. Bob was a avid bowler; he bowled on leagues though the 1970s, all the way through 2015. In 2002 he lost his sight, but he was able to continue bowling, and acquired quite a following as a blind bowler.
Bob worked at Elliott’s Meat Packing Plant in Duluth for most of his life. When Elliott’s closed, he transitioned to Northern Drug unti it closed, and then finally worked at Target in Duluth until he retired. He was always working on cars on the side. He built the team stock cars while they were racing and then continued doing auto body for friends and family.
