This report is based on information submitted by the Prior Lake Police Department for responses between September 2 -9, 2025. All calls for service may not be included; all subjects arrested and named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
September 2
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Wilderness Ridge, 5:04 p.m.
Public assist: A resident of Aspen Avenue reported to police at 2:24 p.m. that he had been getting calls from a debt collector. Police advised him to find out more information from the company to see if he, in fact, owed money. The resident was also advised about possible scams.
Fraud: Police received a report at 3:33 p.m. from a Natalie Road resident who said someone had called her, pretending to be a paramedic who said her daughter had been involved in a serious car crash. The caller said the ambulance would meet her so she could check on her daughter’s status. Daughter was not involved in an accident and found to be safe. The resident blocked the call and no information was given.
Warrant: Police were called at 3:47 p.m. to Brunswick Avenue to resolve a verbal dispute. One person had an active warrant that had been issued by Ramsey County for motor vehicle tampering. He was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail without incident.
Traffic – Criminal: Police responded to a complaint received at 5:18 p.m. of a vehicle driving all over the road near Eagle Creek Avenue and Revere Way. Police stopped the vehicle once it was located. The driver was taken into custody for DWI.
September 3
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Mystic Lake Boulevard, 1:54 a.m.; Simpkins Drive, 6:38 a.m.; West Woodland Trail, 10:49 a.m.; Hastings Avenue, 5:15 p.m.; 170th Street, 9:20 p.m.
Injury Accident: Police investigated an accident that occurred near the roundabout located at Highway 13 and Eagle Creek Avenue. Two vehicles were involved and both were traveling southbound on Highway 13. As they approached the roundabout, the second car collided with the rear of the first car while going at a high rate of speed. The first car had moderate damage resulting from the crash; the second car had substantial front-end damage and was towed from the scene. The driver of the second car was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Accident: No injuries were reported to police following an accident that occurred at 6:25 p.m. near the intersection of Crownline Drive and 140th Street.
September 4
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Park Nicollet Avenue, 2:44 a.m.; Minnesota Street, 9:15 a.m.; West Woodland Trail, 9:15 a.m.
Suspicious Vehicle: Police located a vehicle at 1:44 a.m. at the park located on Cedarwood Trail. Occupants were advised of park hours and asked to leave.
Accident: A two-vehicle accident was reported at 8:33 a.m. at the roundabout located on Highway 13 and Eagle Creek Avenue. No injuries were sustained by vehicle occupants.
Accident: No injuries were reported following an accident that occurred at 12:12 p.m. at the intersection of 140th Street and Eagle Creek Avenue. Insurance information was exchanged. Damage was minor to both vehicles.
Accident: Two vehicles were involved in an accident that was reported at 8:36 p.m. at the Kwik Trip located on Fish Point Road. One car pulled away from a gas pump and struck the other that was entering the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
September 5
Traffic: A person driving near Highway 13 and McColl Drive at 12:31 a.m. was observed by police crossing over and straddling the two-lane roadway multiple times. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver was determined to have a revoked driver’s license, and he told the officer the vehicle was not currently insured. The driver was cited for both infractions.
Animal: Police received a report at 7:23 a.m. of an injured bird near Shepherd’s Path and 140th Street. The officer located a Common Nighthawk, which is on the endangered species list. The Minnesota Raptor Center was called, and police were referred to the Minnesota Wildlife Refuge. The bird was placed in a box and transported to the police department. The hawk was later taken to the Minnesota Wildlife Refuge.
Fraud: A Woodlawn Circle resident reported to police at 1:37 p.m. that fraudulent charges were made on her bank account. She was reimbursed for some of the charges, but needed a police report for the remaining funds to be released.
Fraud: A resident of Epperson Circle reported to police at 4:35 p.m. that he received a call from a person reporting to be an employee of a Walmart store located in Ohio indicating someone had attempted to make a purchase of over $1,500 using a bank account potentially associated with him. The resident was transferred to other extensions several times during the call. He was advised by police to provide no further information. No financial losses were incurred.
September 6
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Wilds Path, 4:08 p.m.
Animal: A Toronto Avenue resident called police at 12:22 p.m., requesting help in rescuing a chicken that had fallen into a 12-foot pit that contained their air intake system. The resident was advised to contact the maintenance department for his building.
Traffic – Criminal: Police arrested the driver of a vehicle on Colorado Street at 2:10 p.m.
September 7
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Dakota Trail, 6:37 a.m.; 140th Street, 6:37 a.m.; Main Avenue, 6:25 p.m.; Jeffers Pass, 8:46 p.m.; Gateway Street, 9:57 p.m.; 150th Street, 11:06 p.m.
Road Hazard: Police received a report at 2:47 p.m. of a dead deer lying in the roadway near 160th Street and Fish Point Road.
Suspicious Activity: Police investigated a report of three people acting strangely and wandering around the parking lots of a church located at Dakota Street. Police were told by the party that their vehicle broke down and they were looking for others to help them, as well as locations to collect rocks.
September 8
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Carriage Hills Road, 6:57 a.m.; Fountain Hills Drive, 8:22 a.m.; Franklin Trail, 5:25 p.m.
Trespass: Police responded to a call at 3:51 a.m. to assist with a man who had an extradition warrant that had been issued out of San Jose, Calif. The man was taken into custody at Mystic Lake Boulevard and transported to the Scott County Jail.
Traffic Stop: A vehicle traveling eastbound on County Road 42 at 9:26 a.m. was observed by police traveling at a much high speed than what was posted. Radar registered the driver going 84 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. When the vehicle was pulled over, the driver said she estimated her speed to be around 70 mph, and she was trying to get to a meeting in St. Paul. She was issued a citation.
Road Hazard: Police assisted with the removal of a dead deer at 12:49 p.m. near the intersection of Eagle Creek Avenue and 140th Street.
Road Hazard: Multiple wood boards that were in the roadway at Eagle Creek Avenue and Franklin Trail were removed by police at 4:56 p.m.
Agency Assist: The Shakopee Police Department requested at 11:27 p.m. assistance from Prior Lake Police in locating the driver of a stolen vehicle.
September 9
Medical: Police assisted with the following medical calls with location and time noted: Franklin Trail, 8:08 a.m.; Fish Point Road, 9:15 a.m.; Rutledge Street, 9:53 p.m.
Animal: Police were successful in helping with the release of a muskrat that was stuck in the fence of a Westbury Avenue resident.
