Prior Lake Rotary’s Lakefront Music Fest will be held in Lakefront Park this Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, which will bring additional traffic to the city. Travel delays in and around the city should be expected both nights.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Musical groups performing Friday night are Jefferson Starship as well as George Thorogood and the Destroyers, with headliner Billy Idol scheduled to go on stage at 9:30 p.m. Saturday’s performers are Karley Scott Collins and Jackson Dean, followed by headliner Keith Urban, who is expected onstage at 9:50 p.m.
Parking will not be available in the park. Free shuttle buses for visitors will run every 20 to 40 minutes from 4 p.m. to midnight each night.

Parking lots at Twin Oaks Middle School (15860 Fish Point Road) and Hidden Oaks Middle School (15855 Fish Point Road) will be available for parking and shuttle service. Attendees are also encouraged to utilize the parking lots at MVTA Park and Ride Lot located at southwest corner of Eagle Creek Boulevard and County Road 21, and Prior Lake High School Lots B and C located at 7575 150th St. W. in Savage to take advantage of the shuttles to and from the festival grounds.
Redtail Ridge and Hamilton school parking lots will not be used for parking and shuttle service.
The following items will not be permitted on shuttle buses: coolers, umbrellas, flags, beverages and pets (other than service dogs).
Parking in the downtown Prior Lake area is not recommended and will be extremely limited. Event organizers are asking attendees to be considerate of local businesses and refrain from blocking private residential driveways.
New this year is a free trolley service that will run between downtown Prior Lake and South Lake Village Drive every 15 to 25 minutes between 4 p.m. and midnight. Trolley signs designating on and off spots will be located throughout the travel area.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel located at 2400 Mystic Lake Boulevard in Prior Lake are also providing shuttle service during the hours of the event. Shuttles from Mystic Lake will be running from the hotel’s lower lot. The shuttles will run every 30 minutes beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at midnight both nights.
Walkers are also welcome to park at WestWood Elementary, La ola del lago at Grainwood Elementary and Edgewood Elementary, all of which are located a short distance from Lakefront Park.
Guests arriving via Uber or Lyft will be dropped off at Prior Lake High School or Twin Oaks Middle School and then take shuttle buses from those locations. There will be no drop off at the park as in the past. At the end of the concert, there will be no option for guests to be picked up at Lakefront Park, Main Avenue, Dakota Street, Eagle Creek Avenue or Highway 13. Ride share pickups will take place at Prior Lake High School or Twin Oaks Middle School, so Uber/Lyft riders should take the shuttle bus to either of those lots.
Highway 13 and County Road 44 will be closed from approximately 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. both Friday and Saturday evenings to accommodate safe crossing of highways by those who walked to the park. Traffic will be redirected by public safety personnel.
Ridgemont Avenue and Hope Street will be closed for approximately 45 minutes both nights beginning at 10 p.m. to accommodate concertgoers leaving Lakefront Park. During this time, vehicles will not be able to enter or exit nearby streets. Public safety vehicles, however, will be able to access all homes in those areas in the event of an emergency.
