Candidates who wish to serve on the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board can file for the office beginning Tuesday, July 14, through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28.

Filing of an affidavit of candidacy is required of all seeking a board position, along with payment of a $2 filing fee. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age when assuming office and be a resident of the school district for a minimum of 30 days prior to the general election. Candidates who file must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or general election. Forms are currently available at the District Services Center located at 4540 Toronto St. in Prior Lake.

The board seats currently being held by Lisa Atkinson, Amy Bullyan, Jessica Olstad and Dustin Smith will expire Dec. 31.

Mary Frantz, Charles Johnson and Jessica Mason will remain on the board, having been elected to serve through Dec. 31, 2028.

Those who are elected will take office Jan. 1, 2027, and each will serve a four-year term. This year’s Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3.
