Local residents can drop off spring yard waste for free during the month of May at the Dakota Prairie Composting site located at 12386 Chestnut Blvd., Shakopee.
The free service is available to residents living in Prior Lake, Shakopee, Savage and other neighboring communities. Brush, leaves and other yard clippings will be accepted. Participants must show identification to provide residency.
Normal drop-off hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dakota Prairie Composting, operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, will be closed on Memorial Day, May 26.
