The U17 Girls team with the Prior Lake Soccer Club competed in the National Premier League (NPL) held in Denver from July 7-11 and came back to Prior Lake as champions.

The team finished the season in first place in the NPL Super League with a record of 14 wins and one loss. In winning their league, the girls advanced to the NPL finals which is the goal for all NPL participants ages 13 through 19 in qualifying through year-long competition within their respective leagues.
The U17 girls, coached by Kari Ornes and Mike Shebuski, played five games in five days in Denver, facing high temperatures and getting used to the altitude in Denver. The team defeated opponents from California, Texas and South Carolina in the opening matches, and went on to beat Washington in the semi finals and Ohio in the final round of play.
Members of the winning team include: Ali Torres, Toni Fisher, Mila Macias, Ellie Patterson, Gianna Stiehm, Bella Cavallaro, Katelyn Kiage, Kendall Young, Lauren Schindler, Makenna Lyons, Mataya Smith, Olivia Drumm, Paige Layman, Peyton Lindahl, Taylor Hendrickson and Teagan Jurek.
