Residents of Prior Lake and other Scott County communities can drop off fall yard waste for free recycling services during the month of May at Dakota Prairie Composting, owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
Drop-off hours from May 1-31 are:
- Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, 7 am. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Sunday, closed
The facility will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
Local residents must show an ID as proof of residence when dropping off yard waste. Residential loads are limited to two tons.
Dakota Prairie Composting is located at 12386 Chestnut Blvd., Shakopee.
