
William W. Stemmer, “Bill,” age 89, of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee.
On September 11, 1936, Bill was born and raised in Shakopee in the Catholic religion and was a faithful Catholic. Marvin and Bernice (Hauer) Stemmer were his parents. Bill married Vi Clemensen on June 6, 1964, and owned the Stemmer Farm and Garden in Shakopee.
Bill’s hobbies included fishing, hunting and traveling south with Vi at retirement. He loved playing town ball baseball in Shakopee and watching the Minnesota Twins. Bill was also a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Shakopee.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vi; nephews and nieces, Mike, Dave, Jeff, Debbie, Nancy, Dr. Lisa, Michael and Tami Rae; brother-in-law, Joe Clemensen; great-nieces and nephews, Blake, McKenzie, Seth and Payton; Michael, Jr.; Meghan, Collin and Brad; McKenna, Keegan and Carson; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Bernice; and sister, Mary Ann O’Meara.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mark, 350 Atwood St. South, Shakopee. Interment will be at Shakopee Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow immediately after the burial and held at the Shakopee VFW Post 4046, 1201 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee.
