Bill was born on March 14, 1956, to Robert and Elizabeth (Borka) Haugh in New Prague. The third of nine children, Bill grew up on the farm in Credit River and attended St. Michael Catholic School before graduating from Prior Lake High School.
Bill went to work with his father and brothers early in life at the Union 76 Service Station. He developed a passion for cars and automotive work and eventually became an ASE Certified Mechanic. Once his father sold the service station, Bill took a job with Amoco Certicare in Eagan, where he worked as the service manager for over 20 years.
When he was young, Bill loved taking road trips and fishing trips with his brothers and friends. In the 1980s, Bill was blessed to meet Judi Grunzke at the B&D bar in Prior Lake. The two hit it off immediately and were united in marriage on October 6, 1989, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Prior Lake. Soon after, they started a family in Credit River and were blessed with two children, Mike and Maria. Bill worked hard to provide for his family and was always active and supportive of the kids and his grandson, Tommy, who always brightened his day.
Bill was an avid Harley rider, and he passed his love of motorcycles on to his two children. He loved riding with friends and being social, hosting infamous garage parties in the shop. He also enjoyed watching westerns with Judi, Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith in particular.
Bill took great pride in taking care of his yard and property in Credit River. He was the mowing master, and kept “Haugh Hill” in pristine condition, even dedicating a garage calendar solely to his mowing schedule. Bill cherished being able to sit on the porch and admire his work.
Cool, calm and collected, Bill was always a steady hand and voice of reason. He will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife, Judi; children, Mike (Jackie) Haugh and Maria (Zach) Warnock; grandsons, Tommy Warnock, and one on the way; siblings, Jim (Cathy) Haugh, Barb (Steve) Kappers, Jayne (Dave) Novak, Mary (John) Messenbrink, Mark (Shelley) Haugh, Dan (Lori) Haugh, Dick (Denise) Haugh and Patty (Rob) Casey; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Bob and Betty Haugh.
