At a special board meeting held June 15, 2026, the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board voted to approve a contract with Dr. Jim Wagner as the district’s next superintendent.

Wagner currently serves as the superintendent of Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools.

“This is a pivotal moment for Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, and we are confident that Dr. Wagner is the right leader to guide us forward,” stated Amy Bullyan, school board chair. “As superintendent, Dr. Wagner will be a collaborative leader who listens, engages and acts with integrity. We are eager to begin this new chapter together.”

“I am honored and humbled by this opportunity in Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools,” added Wagner. “The expectation is to continue the great work already happening and achieve even more for students, staff and the community.”

Pending successful completion of a background check, the start date for Wagner will be July 1.
