Prior Lake’s varsity cheer squad is accustomed to success at nationals, but it was the junior varsity team reaching the top of the cheering pyramid last weekend.
Competing in the small JV D1 game day division, the squad took first place at the UCA National High School Cheer Championships in Orlando. The JV team also took fifth in the traditional performance competition.
Team members winning the championship were Tenley Arbach, Esmae Brix, Piper Brown, Tenley Cantwell, Dakari Dille, Cambryn Fangel, Evie Fisher, Maeva Goodman, Brooklyn Klamm, Leylia Kronmiller, Sadie Kronmiller, Sydney Long, Keely Stewart, Kamry Walters, Quinn Wille, Keira Young, and Molly Zack.

The varsity team had earned at least one national title in each of the past four seasons, including wins in game day and traditional performances in 2024. Prior Lake varsity took on more and tougher competition in the medium D1 tumbling division. It took second in the game day competition out of 54 teams and placed fifth out of 48 teams in traditional performance.
The varsity team was led by captains Kylee Gehrke, Reese Guggemos, Payton Soukup and Lindsay Higgins. The rest of the team included Ella Arbach, Josie Belken, Ava Bildeaux, Willow Blotske, Taylor Caspers, Katelyn Cloudt, Stella Goodman, Payton Johnson, Lilah Kraemer, Kate Kucera, Haddie MacGillivray, Morgan Nemecek, Azara Olson, Madi Pickenpack and Carys Taylor.
