
Dr. Michael Thomas, Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools superintendent, is one of three finalists selected for a second interview for the same role with the Hopkins School District.
Other finalists are Andrew Beaton, assistant superintendent with the North St. Paul, Maplewood and Oakdale School District, and Rebecca Brodeur, senior director of teaching and learning for Robbinsdale Area Schools.
The finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on criteria established by the school board and input provided through community focus groups and a public survey. Five semi-finalists were originally interviewed on April 13, according to the district’s website.
Interviews with the finalists are expected to begin on April 20. The person chosen for the superintendent role is would assume that role on July 1.
Thomas began his role as superintendent within the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District on July 1, 2022. He previously served as superintendent of Colorado Springs School District 11 and held several leadership positions within Minneapolis Public Schools.
