Prior Lake High School Softball teams will host a “Strike Out Cancer” play night and fundraiser at Ponds Park on Friday, May 1, in honor of Addy Shepard and her family.
The youngster passed away on July 1, 2024, after a short battle with leukemia. She was known for her pitching skills on Prior Lake’s U10 traveling softball team and as a stand-out player and a fierce competitor.
Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and is also designated as Prior Lake Athletics for Youth Night. Youth players are encouraged to wear their team jersey. A team sticker will be given to the first 50 players who show up. Three food trucks will be selling food items.
The Prior Lake High School varsity softball team will face Shakopee starting at 7 p.m.
Proceeds from all purchases will benefit the Adalyn Shepard Memorial Fund.
