The Prior Lake High School Fishing Team participated in the first of three Minnesota Junior Bass tournaments of the season and walked away with first place honors and six of the top 10 spots out of 40 boats entered in the competition.

Top Prior Lake teams included:
- Charlie Heinemann and Charlie Coffman, 1st place
- Henry Michaelson and Jake Domer, 5th place
- Noah Written and Justin Didion, 6th place
- Grant DeYoung and Brockton Zuelke, 7th place
- Kobe Anderson and Alex Pelletier, 9th place
- Kendall Loeffler and Jax Neubauer, 10th place
The first open was held on Lake Waconia on June 10. Anglers fish in teams of two per boat with an official boat captain for the day. Five fish can be entered into the competition by each team. Fish are limited to large mouth or small mouth bass that are a minimum of 12 inches in length. Only artificial lures can be used during competition.
Each boat must return to the designated weigh-in location prior to its designated weigh-in time. Each team are required to take one long timeout in a day, and during that period, no fishing is allowed.
The Prior Lake team participated in another tournament yesterday, June 17, on Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Inn. The final tournament for the Southwest Metro Conference will be held on July 15 on Lake Minnetonka.
Other schools that have teams participating in the conference include Eden Prairie, Shakopee, Chaska/Chanhassen, Waconia and Holy Family/Victoria.
