Due to the popularity of the first two “Little Diggers” watch event hosted by the City of Prior Lake, No. 3 is planned for Wednesday, May 6, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Both of the previous “dig” events have attracted crowds exceeding 200 that included all ages. Youngsters who attended received their own plastic hard hat and also had an opportunity to literally play in the dirt while inside Prior Lake City Hall.
Others watched from the balcony on the east side of the building that overlooks the site that was cleared of two older homes in mid-January, making way for the $32 million Cora Apartment complex that will be built along Dakota Street. The structure will eventually include more than 100 apartments, a restaurant, a rooftop dining area and underground parking.
Little Diggers is open to all, and there is no charge to watch really big equipment move tons of dirt. Prior Lake City Hall is located at 4646 Dakota Street in downtown Prior Lake.
