The Lakers girls hockey team were not able to eke out a victory over Lakeville South on Tuesday.
Prior Lake and Lakeville South remained scoreless through the first two periods, entering the third tied 0–0.
Early in the final period, the Lakers struck on the power play when senior forward Ava Anderson scored to give Prior Lake a 1–0 lead, assisted by freshman defender Rachel Chapman and sophomore forward Maddie DuChene.
However, Lakeville South answered with two goals later in the period to move in front 2–1, and Prior Lake was unable to even the score before the final horn.
Senior goaltender Sophie Cappiello finished with 32 saves on 34 shots.
The loss brings the Lakers’ overall record to 3–2 and marks their first defeat in South Suburban Conference play, where they now sit at 2–1.

Prior Lake Shuts Out Eastview 3-0
Prior Lake kicked off its two-game week by blanking Eastview 3–0 on Nov. 20.
Junior defender Kallie Disrud opened the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by senior forward Ciera Olinger. Minutes later, junior forward Abby Anthony extended the lead to 2–0, with assists from junior Ella Voll and Cappiello, a rare goalie assist.
After a scoreless second period, Olinger added a short-handed, unassisted goal in the third to make it 3–0.
Prior Lake outshot Eastview 34–13 and Cappiello earned the shutout with 13 saves.

Following the Thanksgiving break, the Lakers travel to Fairmont for a Saturday afternoon matchup before returning to South Suburban Conference play on Tuesday at Eagan.
