The Prior Lake High School Fishing Team participated in the second of three Minnesota Junior Bass tournaments of the season and came away with second- and third-place finishes.
Top Prior Lake teams included:
- Kendall Loeffler and Jax Neubauer, second place
- Henry Michaelson and Jake Domer, third place
The most recent tournament was held on Lake Koronis in Paynesville on June 17. Anglers fish in teams of two per boat with an official boat captain for the day. Five fish can be entered into the competition by each team. Fish are limited to largemouth or smallmouth bass that are a minimum of 12 inches in length. Only artificial lures can be used during competition.
Each boat must return to the designated weigh-in location prior to its designated weigh-in time. Each team must take one long timeout per day, during which no fishing is allowed.
The final tournament for the Southwest Metro Conference will be held on July 15 on Lake Minnetonka.
Other schools that have teams participating in the conference include Eden Prairie, Shakopee, Chaska/Chanhassen, Waconia and Holy Family/Victoria.
