Prior Lake girls hockey went 1–1 on a two-game road stretch, falling at Rosemount before rebounding with a shutout win at Eastview to move to 9-8-1 overall.
Prior Lake opened the scoring in the first period Jan. 8 at Rosemount when junior forward Abby Anthony scored, assisted by sophomore defender Liv Heinicke, giving the Lakers a 1–0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Rosemount answered with two goals in the second period to take the lead, then added two more in the third, including an empty-net goal, to secure a 4–1 victory.
In goal, senior goalie Sophie Cappiello made 20 saves on 23 shots.
Two nights later at Eastview, the Lakers responded with a strong performance, earning a 9–0 conference road win.
After a scoreless first period, the Lakers took control in the second, scoring six goals on 22 shots.
The first two goals of the period came on the power play. Prior Lake added three more goals in the third to complete the shutout.
Offensively, the scoring was spread throughout the lineup. Senior forward Ava Anderson, sophomore forward Lily Loechler and sophomore forward Raya Mathiason each scored twice. Other goal scorers included junior forward Addi Heinicke, Liv Heinicke and Anthony.
Three-point performances came from Liv Heinicke, Anthony, freshman defender Rachel Chapman and junior defender Kallie Disrud.
In goal, Cappiello and freshman goalie Chloe Byrne combined for the shutout.
