The Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools district has agreed to sell its District Services Center for $2.65 million.
The school board voted to approve the purchase agreement with Roers Acquisitions in a 7-0 vote at the Jan. 26 meeting. Roers also plans to purchase land that is adjacent to the building from Scott County.
The district and Roers agreed to a 270-day due diligence period. During this time, Roers has the opportunity to do inspections, get zoning approvals and other processes that they will complete with the city of Prior Lake as well as the district.
The closing will occur within 90 days of the completion of the buyer’s due diligence process. The district agreed that Roers can extend the closing date by as much as 60 days to ensure that the closings for the building and the adjacent land happen at the same time.
The board voted in July 2025 to sell the building at 4540 Tower Street SE as part of the district’s efforts to balance its budget amid rising expenditures, lowering enrollment numbers and a failed 2024 levy vote.
