Prior Lake boys hockey dropped to 3-8-2 on the season following a 3–2 road loss to Eastview on Jan. 10, marking the Lakers’ seventh straight loss, many by narrow margins against strong competition.
The Lakers opened the scoring in the first period when senior forward Hudson Young scored on the power play for the first goal of his varsity career, giving Prior Lake a 1–0 lead going into the first intermission. The goal was assisted by junior defenseman Mason Markwell and senior defenseman Jack Willmert.
Eastview tied the game with a power-play goal in the second period.
The Lightning added two more power-play goals in the third period to take a 3–1 lead. The go-ahead goal was scored with two seconds remaining on the penalty kill.
Prior Lake added a late goal when sophomore forward Beckett Solis scored, assisted by Willmert and junior forward Noah Kurth, but the Lakers were unable to score the equalizer.
Joe Gannon finished with 24 saves on 27 shots in goal for Prior Lake.
